Teacher Training

This is a busy week for me. Monday I started a three day Teacher Training course right here at Quilt in a Day. It is exciting to have a gal from Australia, a gal from Canada and others from all across our great country. There are numerous reasons why they are here. Some are shop owners, others quild and church members, some wanting to teach from their homes, all are anxious to learn our methods, familiarize themselves with our products and go out and teach.

Part of the training is hands on – like making “demo in a bag”. This gives them reference materials when they teach. A business lecture includes problem solving, learning their way around our websites and fun ways to have happy and successful students.

As the training comes to an end, the skills are only a small part of the three days, the camaraderie felt by all will last a lifetime. Good luck to all of you!

Before they left, they did a little last minute shopping.

There were a few books to autograph.

Very coordinated, a purse and water bottle in pink and purple and more fabric to buy in the same colors.

My busy week continues, I fly on a “red-eye” tonight and teach first thing in the morning in Richmond, Virginia.

I tried to get into this June class, but didn’t find out about it till it was too late (no cancellation opened up). Have signed up for a spring teacher class in 2011. But I need to pay. Funny, as when I made a specific trip to pay I ended up getting distracted with your sale fabric and forgot to pay for this 2011 class…but I’m planning on popping in this coming week. Definitely want to take this GREAT class (even if I don’t teach).

I was one of Eleanor’s June students and what a wonderful time. Keep on trying to get in to the teacher’s training. It will help you as a teacher and make such new friends. A lifetime of memories. Thanks so much to such wonderful staff at QIAD and Eleanor and Sue. Cheri

Hi, Eleanor! I am so excited!!! I just spent two days assisting Patricia with her demos for our quilt show in Owensboro, KY. I told Patricia that I was interested in becoming a trained Quilt in a Day teacher and she told me to come to the website. I started squealing when I saw classes were being taught! I signed my friend, Terry, and myself up right away. We’re taking the classes in Paducah in February. We can’t wait!!!

Oh I so wish I lived closer, but being in the UK it’s just a tad too far for me :)

This was a great class. We learned so much and practiced sewing demos a lot. If you can get into a future class, do so!
